I have been attending Laurie’s yoga classes for more than 4 years.  Three years ago Laurie’s yoga classes helped me regain strength and flexibility in my right knee after surgery.  Following left knee surgery last October, I was hopeful that yoga would work it’s magic again and that I would be able to resume my normal activities.  This recovery was much longer and slower.  Our annual vacation was fast approaching.  Would I still be able to waterski?  I brought my yoga mat on vacation.  Each morning I began with yoga on the boat dock followed by a swim in the lake and then, being stretched and warmed up, waterskiing. Laurie's Friday afternoon yoga class is a great way to cap off my week. Taking time to slow down, breathe and just simply relax is so important. On the physical side, the gains in flexibility have carried over to other sports activities and even brought relief from chronic foot pain due to a running injury. Regular yoga keeps me in my happy place!-

There’s no more perfect way to end the work week than by attending TGIF yoga.  Laurie is an amazing instructor.  She describes each asana with a  clear, soothing voice.  The many regulars and “newbies” in the class flow freely from posture to posture with her instruction.   With a practiced eye, Laurie finds those that need help and gently assists them.  The overall structure of the class is similar enough from week to week to be comfortably familiar, yet varied enough to keep it interesting.  Laurie’s choice of music is inspirational and ever changing.  Wow, just writing this makes me wish it was Friday and time for class!-----Betsy B.
 
 
When enlisted as an active duty Marine, my job often left my body and mind somewhat dissonant. While enduring the trials and tribulations of infantry life, I could always count on my mother for nutrition, meditation and stretching advice. Her clear and concise direction has always been an abundant resource that I could not imagine being without.--

I just have to say how much I LOVE Laurie and her class………She has literally changed my life.  I came to her class 2 years ago with such back pain.  Anyone with chronic back pain needs to think YOGA, and start classes.  Laurie is a phenomenal instructor, one of the best! And she is easy to follow while making sure all poses are done correctly.  I must state that I am in NO more pain and when I started yoga I could hardly bend at all!  No Doctor’s, no drugs, just meditation and stretching!  I will be doing yoga for the rest of my life. I love my “happy place” yoga equipment too! Laurie is a super yoga teacher.  I've taken yoga classes on and off for 20 years and I've stayed "on" with Laurie now for over four years.  She is a gentle leader and is always developing professionally so she can help her students achieve the various positions in the safest and simplest way.  She's taught me how to go to my "happy place" and I highly recommend her.  ~~Marge U.

What have I gained from the yoga instruction of Laurie Milbourn?   I am much more flexible today with fewer back problems and neurological issues because of Ms. Milbourn's professional approach, her competency and knowledge of the subject, and her overall friendly, kind demeanor.  Five years ago, you would have found it difficult to talk me into using yoga as a vehicle for stretching (I am a runner), relaxation, and meditation.  Laurie has changed that and I am forever grateful.

I recently purchased two new “Happy Place” Pro mats for my wife and I.  They feel wonderful and the extra thickness makes our work-outs fun again.  I used to slip while doing poses on my old mat—but now find that I’m holding my poses properly and am able to accomplish some positions that I was unable to do in the past.--
